At Napoon, our mission can be summed up in one sentence: to make deep sleep accessible to everyone. We create handcrafted weighted blankets from cotton. No glass beads. Just cotton, weight, and science to help you sleep better. But why do we do this? Let me tell you.
Why I created Napoon
My name is Dorian, founder of Napoon. For years, I suffered from poor sleep due to an intense pace in Paris.
A typical day in Paris
Wake up at 5:45 am. One-hour walk with Marley, my Belgian Malinois. Work from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. Another one-hour walk with Marley. Exercise, personal projects, then bed at 11:30 pm.
On paper it looked good
A great vegan diet, regular exercise, discipline. But my body was stagnating. I felt exhausted.
The turning point
I came across a video that showed two things: muscle only rebuilds itself during deep sleep. And, from the age of 30, we lose 1% of muscle mass per year.
Sleep tracking
I downloaded Rise, a sleep tracking app. Result: chronic sleep debt. My body never really recovered.
